What's New, London?
The beautiful thing about London is that it is always evolving. There are always new venues to host in, bars to explore and the most innovative restaurants to try. Here’s a round-up of some of the newest openings in town that we can’t wait to try, whether it is for a private dinner, a small client meeting, or just a lazy Sunday brunch.
Plant based goodness and geometric styling you say? OK we are in. The menu at Stem & Glory will delight the vegans and non-vegans equally with its inventive cuisine. To top it off all the food is totally ‘gram worthy, and most of the dishes come with edible flowers.
Yeni Soho is the second restaurant in its group, with the first (Yeni Lonkata, which literally means ‘new restaurant’) well established and loved in Istanbul. Now the chef has brought the popular Turkish dining experience to London. The space has beautifully large windows, exposed bricks and a stunning feature wall. Split over two floors the venue would be the perfect events space for guests looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
Soft pinks, marble surfaces and copper piping dress this Peruvian x Japanese inspired restaurant and give it a “perfect Pinterest goals” feel. In welcome contrast, the cosy relaxed vibe allows it to play host to an event dinner without being too fussy, and it boasts a small private dining room too.
Did we mention the food is to die for?
Abundant greenery and neon styling touches at Da Terra in Bethnal Green’s Town Hall will make this restaurant a sure fire hit with all of your design conscious guests. Latin America meets Italy on the plates as two ex Fat Duck chefs come together to create magic. Not to mention the open kitchen which will naturally create another layer of curiosity among your group.
Setting up home in a disused Linoleum factory, Lino is taking a new approach to dining in the city, which we could not enjoy more! Working with sustainably sourced materials for their decor they claim to ‘re-use, re-love and re-imagine’, and their menu is based on what is seasonally available so no two trips would ever quite be the same. They also have the ‘Back Room’ which is perfect for more informal meetings and catch ups, or it can be hired for a private event.
With a strong focus on maintaining a sustainable approach to cooking, and an impeccably designed interior, Levan is a beautiful space in Peckham that is sure to surprise and delight guests outside of the centre of town. The main space can hold up to 30 guests across two large tables which is perfect for relaxed family style dining, and the bespoke event menu possibilities are the cherry on top.
The old Savoy Cinema in Hackney has been transformed into a multi-million pound arts hub, including a 150 person dining space led by renowned chefs. Opening soon, it promises to be a low key cafe during the day perfect for meetings or working remotely, turning into a beautiful and more refined dining space in the evening. Small plates and live entertainment? EartH Kitchen has got you.
Boasting pastel interiors and located in a London landmark with a killer view, Vivi at Centre Point will be a throwback dining heaven. Putting a stylish twist on all your cooking class favourites such as jam roly poly and chicken kievs, the 16,000 sq ft space will also conjure nostalgia among your guests via a light installation specifically designed to mimic a classic children's game. Retro just got cute.
Though not necessarily a new opening, or a restaurant as such, we recently discovered this venue at a small industry event and we could not be more in love with it! It would be perfect for intimate influencer dinners, or a private supper club event for your most C Level delegates.
10 Cable Street is a venue that is completely plant based, and as such only works with suppliers and brands that align with their values - focusing on healthy body and healthy living.
So there you have it, our pick of the best of London’s new restaurant scene and a sneak preview of what’s to come. With pastels, botanics and plant based dining continuing to pop up everywhere, London we salute you.
