We are now looking for a hardworking Business Development Manager with proven business development and sales experience who is bright, confident, hungry, works well independently and as part of a team.  Our role will suit someone who wants to develop with us and be fully immersed in our story and our journey. A background in event sales would be beneficial but is not a dealbreaker.

Our ideal candidate will know how to approach brands both from a cold start and nurture long term relationships to maximise business - you’ll need to be comfortable pitching creative and intricate partnership ideas in person. In short, we’re looking for the complete, 360, new business professional.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about digital, media and social, results oriented and proactive.

This role will lead on our sales process from lead generation to closing sales.

  • End to end sales project management including lead generation, arranging meetings and helping to close accounts with the project team

  • Identify, develop and convert event opportunities in agreed new sectors with clients and future prospects

  • Build the database with pipeline and confirmed business

  • Use a range of communication strategies for client engagement to develop and convert sales opportunities

  • Maintain a highly responsive and pre-emptive service ethic with clients.

  • Proposal management – leading our junior team on research required and pulling together budgets

  • Attendance at industry events, networking events and industry shows to represent Unicorn Events.

  • Offer uncompromising levels of service and advice, and always look at ways to enhance company value proposition.

Core Skills/Competencies Required

  • Proven service based sales experience and ability to draw on examples of account growth.

  • Excellent business development skills – ability to identify upsell opportunities and secure future business prior to leaving current event.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Good business acumen and commercial awareness.

  • Must have a proven track record in growing accounts and winning new business/pitches.

  • Knowledge of events and brand experience sector.

  • Marketing knowledge is an advantage.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects
